This piece I actually started a few months back. I worked on it for a few hours and then moved on to a few other things.
A couple of days ago I went back and decided to finish it off.
I wanted a very oil painted look so I decided to stick mainly to traditional painting techniques (such as using only one layer).
The piece was inspired by a certain section of Lord of the Rings.
I wish there were an auto-fave for your stuff.
Don't take this the wrong way, but pretty much the only reason (currently, anyway) that I log onto Devart is to see if you've made a new piece.
It's all an inspiration... keep up the great work.
The way you capture lighting in this piece is incredible.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
