This piece just started off as a face study (it was originally a monk.) Gradually I started changing elements (got rid of the monk's hood, added some armor, scar, long hair, etc. )...This was the end result.
I love how you make the shapes evident by using this soft light that hides some parts of it in darkness. Rook s a bit like that Dutch old painter What'shisname... Rubens! (I think)
